What is Ayurveda?
AYURVEDA is literally a life science, derived form the words AYUR meaning life and VEDA meaning science or knowledge. Here in India, Ayurveda has been a way of life for hundreds of years. It is only in recent years that those living outside of India have been able to take advantage of this ancient and wise science. Using all natural techniques and ingredients, Ayurveda is a preventative healing science as well as being proven to alleviate various symptoms through different treatment programs. Ayurveda is a holistic science which works on all parts of human life; physical, emotional and spiritual.
Ayurveda works using the ancient system of balance, based on the knowledge that every being is made up of the 5 base elements; EARTH, FIRE, WATER, AIR and SPACE. If we are living balanced lives, these 5 elements must be in harmony and Ayurveda brings all these into equilibrium to enable us to live a healthy life inside and out, physically and emotionally.
Ayurveda differs from everyday medicine as each client is looked at in their physical and emotional state before any kind of treatment is given. One of our highly trained Ayurvedic doctors will prescribe a program of treatment specific to your symptoms and circumstances. Programs can be tailor-made to any length of time, and clients will be fully supported by a special Ayurvedic diet which also forms a significant part of the healing process.
